Compatible Macs
Duo needs two things: an Apple silicon chip and the lid angle sensor Apple builds into recent MacBooks. Duo checks both the moment it opens and tells you on the spot, and the 60 second test confirms it in under a minute.

About the MacBook Neo
Compatibility depends on the region the Neo was sold in, not on where you use it. The units sold in the Americas and in Europe have the lid angle sensor and work with Duo. The units sold in Asia do not have it.

AsiaDuo opens and says Not compatible. The slider in Settings still shows you the effect.
Not sure which one you have?
Open Duo. The first card names the chip and says Compatible or Not compatible, with the reason underneath. No guessing, no model numbers.

New in 1.2, on every compatible Mac
The picture snaps back in about half a second, and the effect plays everywhere on the built-in display: over full-screen apps, on every Space, over the menu bar and the Dock, and at the lock screen. See what is new.
How the list was made. The status follows the lid angle sensor: Apple added it with the 2021 MacBook Pro redesign and the 2022 MacBook Air redesign, so earlier Apple silicon MacBooks and all Intel MacBooks do not have it. Duo is in beta. If your Mac behaves differently from this list, the in-app check is the one to trust.
